Crowmatix guitarist Jo hn Platania produced Guy's latest CD\, while Professor Louie and drummer G ary Burke have been performing with him on records and in shows here in th e U.S. and abroad. John and Gary also played with Guy on national televisi on on the Conan Show. The performance Saturday\, Feb 28th will include gui tarist/ singer songwriter Greg Dayton and Tannersville’s own Greene Room Show Choir\, who have backed the Crowmatix on several occasions. Tunes wi ll span from traditional blues to originals and covers from Bob Dylan\, th e Band and more\, with collaborations between all the artists.\n\nProfesso r Louie and Greg Dayton have been bringing one of a kind shows to the Orph eum over the past four years from the New Riders of Purple Sage to the Ron stadt Generations and the Blues Hall of Fame Awards. Their shows always  bring together a unique variety of world class talent in a setting that br ings the whole community together in a joyful noise. This night will be no exception.\n\nGuy Davis: The Routes of Blues\nGuy Davis has some Blind Wi llie McTell and some Fats Waller\, some Buddy Guy and some Taj Mahal. He ’s a musician\, composer\, actor\, director\, and writer\, but most impo rtantly\, Guy Davis is a bluesman. He received rave reviews for his perfor mance off-Broadway as the legendary Robert Johnson in Robert Johnson: Tric k The Devil and for his most recent appearance on Broadway in Finian’s R ainbow\, playing the part originally played by the legendary Sonny Terry. He has won the Blues Foundation’s W.C. Handy Keeping the Blues Alive Awa rd and has been nominated for a number of additional Handy Awards. Numerou s acclaimed releases on Redhouse Records have cemented Guy’s place on th e world blues circuit. Guy can tell you stories of his parents\, actors/wr iters Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis\, his great-grandparents and his grandparen ts\, their days as track linemen.\n\nGuy had the honor of appearing in the PBS special on Jazz and Blues artist\, the late Howard Armstrong. He was an honored guest at the Kennedy Center Awards\, in which his folks receive d their medals\, alongside other recipients like Warren Beatty\, Elton Joh n and composer John Williams from the President of the United States.\n\nA coustic Guitar Magazine described Guy Davis’ release\, You Don’t Know My Mind as “one of the thirty essential CDs from a new generation of per formers.”\n\nProfessor Louie and The Crowmatix\nGrammy-nominated Profess or Louie and The Crowmatix is the only full band ever inducted into the Bl ues Hall of Fame NY Chapter and also were inducted in The Southern Canadia n Blues Hall of Fame. Professor Louie &\; The Crowmatix came into exist ence preparing songs for Aaron “Professor Louie” Hurwitz’s studio pr oductions for the Rock ‘n ‘Roll Hall of Fame group The Band. They are the backing group for solo CD’s by Rick Danko\, Levon Helm and Garth Hud son. They began touring and recording their own music in 2001 and have rec orded ten studio CDs and two live recordings on the Woodstock Records labe l. In 2012\, Woodstock Records released their CD Wings On Fire to rave rev iews.\n\nProfessor Louie &\; The Crowmatix have an extensive and varied repertoire and play 150 shows a year in the U.S. and internationally. He hosts the monthly Applejack Jam at the Triad Theater in New York City with his band The Core and special guests including New York City’s finest musicians. He has has produced and opened for several sold out shows at the Orpheum.\ n\nGreene Room Players Show Choir\nUnder the direction of Linda Nicholls\, the Greene Room Players Show Choir is a group of  adults and teens who h ave been performing for over fifteen years for various events on the mount aintop and throughout Greene County. They have performed several Fourth of July celebrations at the Windham Civic Center Church\, Holiday Shows\, Br oadway Reviews\, and fundraising events for mountaintop organizations. The y also have a select women’s ensemble that performs selections including oldies\, standards\, jazz\, and sacred music. They have performed with Pr ofessor Louie and the Cromatix for the past three years and are always thr illed when asked to join them!\n\nThis event is part of the Catskill Mount ain Foundation 2015 Performing Arts Season and is funded by private donati ons.
