Vivaldi's classic\, "The Seaso ns" is here given a new sparkle\, with Dr Cooper's humorous updated transl ations of the original sonnets\, performed by the "brilliant" actor Nicho las Mongiardo-Cooper\, and played - with lots of added ornamentation - by spectacular violinist Marjorie Bagley.In addition\, Kenneth Cooper will pl ay one of his favorite harpsichord concerti\, Bach's demonicConcerto No. 5 in F minor\, with his own fiery cadenza in the finale. To open this festi ve event\, the Berkshire Bach Ensemble will play the brilliant overture to Handel's Samson\, followed by the premiere of Montevertigo\, a suite of M onteverdi's marvelous and adventurous Scherzi musicali that Dr Cooper has newly devised\, which features our two very high horn-players\, Ann Ellswo rth and Rachel Drehmann.\n\n \;\n\nThis performance is part of the Pi ano Performance Museum Concerts &\; Conversations series of the Catskil l Mountain Foundation's presenting season and is made possible with the g enerous support of the Jarvis and Constance Doctorow Family Foundation.
