Public Hearing Notice
Please take notice that on the 29th day of July, 2025, at the Rescue Squad Building, 21 Park Lane, Tannersville, New York, the Boards of Fire Commissioners of the Tannersville Joint Fire District and the Haines Falls Fire District will hold a public hearing, which shall commence at 7:00 p.m., to consider the following resolution:
The Tannersville Joint Fire District and the Haines Falls Fire District, both located in a portion of the Town of Hunter, propose to consolidate the fire districts into one consolidated fire district. The proposed consolidation shall become effective upon the successful vote of both Boards of Fire Commissioners. The fire district boards will meet immediately following the public hearing to vote on the proposed consolidation plan.
Please take further notice that a descriptive summary of the plan of consolidation shall be as follows:
The Tannersville Joint Fire District and the Haines Falls Fire District propose to consolidate their two contiguous fire districts into one joint fire district. The fire district will continue to be managed by a board of five (5) fire commissioners. The districts will combine all financial operations, including merging reserve funds, bond payment obligations, and ownership of vehicles, apparatus, and equipment.
